INTERACTION WITH TECHNOLOGY

Competent, skilled, and responsible children who use technology to serve them without becoming slaves to it.

No one knows what the future holds, but one thing we are sure of is that competent young people will be needed, capable of solving problems and applying the knowledge they have learned to their lives. This begins when they are young. That's why we seek to give your children the opportunity to put it into practice from the beginning of their lives.

One of the most important tools today is technology; it has become almost like a new language, and it is imperative that children understand it and can use it to become competent and successful. However, it is important that children's interaction with technology does not hinder their development by preventing physical movement and the effort required to accomplish a task.

Movement is essential for childhood development because children develop their intelligence  through their senses; that is, through manipulating real objects with an intelligent purpose and through movement. Movement is completely necessary for the comprehensive development of children, and if we hinder it, we will not be meeting the child's needs for their comprehensive development.

Using technology incorrectly can also hinder children's social development by completely separating them from reality and immersing them in a virtual reality where they do not need to interact and work with others. This can hinder the development of qualities such as respect, patience, tolerance, and empathy.

For this reason, our approach to technology will be based on the use of educational materials aimed at developing mathematical thinking contained in programming, but without the use of technological devices. Instead, sensory materials such as "Cubetto" and "Kibo" are used, which is a wooden robot that teaches the basics of programming through play. Here's a video of "Cubetto."

Cubetto - How it works

What we aim to develop in children is the mental process and the thinking necessary to understand and be able to use technology as a mechanism of service and assistance for humans. We seek to develop competent, skilled, and responsible children who use technology to serve them, without becoming slaves to it.
